Get outside
Research shows that a few minutes of walking outside can not only boost your energy, but also enhance your mood and memory! Sometimes just this shift in your environment can shift your energy. Bonus points if you are in the beach cities and make it on over to the surf and sand. If you absolutely can’t get outside, make sure that the sun is making it in, and open those shades!
Take control of your stressors
Emotions are surprisingly contagious, and stress-based emotions eat huge amounts of energy. If you’re constantly in a stressful environment, surrounded by stressed out people or other stressors, this takes a toll on your energy through the day. While it’s probably not realistic to suggest taking mental health days all the time (although we do highly recommend the occasional one!), making sure to mind your mental health through the week is a necessity. Relaxation tactics like yoga and meditation are a great place to start, but if you need more help, try to consider lightening your load. Try streamlining your ‘must-do’ activities to only those that are most important.
Use caffeine to your advantage
While caffeine might give you that instant boost when you need to wake up in the morning, it’s also followed by a slump. Consider strategically timing your caffeine intake alongside a protein-rich breakfast to support your energy through the day. Also, try a slow-releasing caffeine like matcha. You may feel less of an instant boost, but that will be followed by less of a crash, too!
Get moving!
Even if it’s just a couple jumping jacks or pacing while you’re on the phone. Exercise is a natural energy booster. Regularly squeezing a workout into your day, even if you can only spare ten minutes at a time, helps maintain your energy levels.
